The 24th International Conference on Talent Exchange was held in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei Province of the People's Republic of China.
President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbeyli, addressed the opening ceremony of the international conference, which brought together more than 400 participants from 30 countries.
In his speech, Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that relations between Azerbaijan and China date back to ancient times through the Great Silk Road. He pointed out that as early as the 12th century, the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi created a remarkable character inspired by Chinese motifs in his poem "The Seven Beauties."
The President of ANAS emphasized that the solid foundations of Azerbaijan–China relations were laid by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that, thanks to the political will of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, bilateral cooperation has been comprehensively expanded across all fields. Academician Isa Habibbeyli stressed that these relations have also created broad opportunities for scientific cooperation, leading to deeper collaboration in science, technology, and the humanities, while the tangible results of scientific exchange are already evident.
He further noted that the memoranda of understanding signed between ANAS and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Hebei Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Hebei Normal University, as well as several other research institutions and universities, have already produced practical results. He also informed the participants that a number of joint research projects are being carried out by various research institutes of ANAS and that the China Studies Center operates at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS.
Expressing confidence that bilateral relations would continue to deepen and that scientific cooperation would enter a new stage of development, Academician Isa Habibbeyli highlighted the emergence of new opportunities for applying artificial intelligence and advancing digital development in the social sciences and humanities.
