The project of the European Space Agency NELIOTA, studying collisions of meteorites with the lunar surface, was supplemented by a new, second in a row, observatory, which will affect the accuracy of the data obtained.
The Cryoneri Observatory, located in Greece, observes collisions of meteorites with the moon. Scientists mark the places where meteorites fall and record the temperature as a result of impacts. During 150 hours of observations, 102 outbreaks were recorded on a satellite of the Earth. But not all of them could occur due to the fall of meteorites. In some cases, scientists may have observed the transit of near-Earth satellites through the moon's disk.
