Head of the Department of Dede Qorgud of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Philology, Professor Ramazan Gafarli and Head of the Department of Armenian Studies of the Institute of Caucasus Studies, Doctor of Historical Sciences Gasim Hajiyev delivered lectures at the next online scientific conference organized by the Institute of Economic Development and Social Research of Turkey (IKSAD).

G. Hajiyev’s lecture on “Armenian terror and genocides committed against the peoples of the South Caucasus and Turks and the Armenian movement in the South Caucasus” was heard at the conference.

In his report, “The Role and Importance of Turkic Dastans in the Development of World Culture,” R. Ghafarli spoke about the role of Azerbaijani-Turkic dastans, who have passed the historical development path of 3 thousand years, in shaping the epic thinking of the peoples of the world. He talked about the specific features of the dastans “Oguz Khagan”, “Dede Qorgud”, “Koroglu”, “Asli and Kerem”, etc., compared such epic works of various peoples of the world as “Iliad”, “Odyssey”, “Mahabharata” ”,“ Ramayana ”,“ Beowulf ”,“ Robin Hood ”,“ Kalawela ”, “The Word about Igor’s Regiment ”, with ancient Turkic dastans, pointed to their similar and distinctive features.

Note that the scientific conferences organized by IKSAD last 10 days. Every day at an online conference, a representative of one Turkic state makes a scientific lecture on an urgent topic, after which the report is discussed in detail. So far, the conference heard reports from 10 scientists from Turkey, Central Asia and Azerbaijan. An international conference is held every evening with the moderation of an outstanding scientist Hassan Chiftchi with the participation of 40-70 people for an hour and a half lively.
