Seven scientists from five countries were awarded prizes for discoveries in astrophysics, nanoscience and neuroscience. The winners were announced at the end of May in Norway, they were announced by the Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Literature. Laureates in each of the regions are entitled to $ 1 million.
The 2020 Kavli Prize winners are truly groundbreaking science, a science that will greatly benefit humanity, inspiring both current and future generations, ”said Hans Petter Graver, President of the Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Literature.
This year the prizes received:
- Kavli Prize in Astrophysics: Andrew Fabian (Great Britain);
- Kavli Prize in Nanoscience: Harald Rose (Germany), Maximilian Haider (Austria), Knut Urban (Germany) and Ondrei L. Krivanek (Great Britain and Czech Republic);
