Professor Sakit Huseynov, head of the Department of Philosophy of Sustainable Development of the Institute of Philosophy of ANAS, took part in the international online conference "Farabi’s Heritage", held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

S. Huseynov delivered a lecture on “The great medieval philosopher Abu Nasr al-Farabi and modernity” at the plenary session of the international conference. In his lecture, an Azerbaijani scientist spoke about the philosophical legacy of Farabi and his attitude to the philosophical teachings of Aristotle and Plato. Commenting on the philosophical heritage of Farabi, he spoke about the influence of his work on the teachings of the medieval Azerbaijani philosophers Afzaladdin Khunazhi (1193-1248), Sirajaddin Urmavi (1198-1283) and others.
