Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Joint research work was carried out within the framework of a cooperation agreement signed between the Central Botanical Garden of ANAS and Research Institute of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

As objects of research, valuable species of medicinal plants belonging to the genus Stockrose (Alcea L.) and Melissa (Melissa L.) were studied.

The employees of the Laboratory of Rare and Endangered Plant Species of the Central Botanical Garden - PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Sevinj Guliyeva, PhD in Biology Aynur Arabzadeh and researcher Gunay Mammadova conducted research in laboratories operating at the Institute of Agriculture. By applying modern methods and equipment, the biochemical composition of economically significant plant material collected in various regions of Azerbaijan was studied.
