Coronavirus can be infected again, according to German doctors. This was told to ZDF by the head physician of the infectious diseases department of the hospital in Schwabing, Clemens Wendtner. The possibility of a new disease is indicated by a decrease in the number of antibodies in the blood of patients who have had COVID19 some time ago. Doctors tested those who had coronavirus in January and found that former patients had low antibody levels.

“According to the results of a special test, we observe a decrease in the number of neutralizing antibodies in four out of nine patients,” Wendtner said.

The specialist could not accurately answer whether this is critical for the formation of long-term immunity. Previously, cases of re-infection of COVID19 were reported by Chinese scientists.
