Mitsubishi Chemical, a Japanese corporation, has developed plastic bags that are completely biodegradable. This was reported on Sunday by Japanese public television.

It is noted that the bags are made of a special material, which to the touch and in its texture is no different from ordinary polyethylene, and it includes, in particular, sugar cane. According to the Japanese company, such bags can completely decompose in seawater in just one year. Mitsubishi Chemical is confident that the development will help in the fight to reduce plastic waste in the seas and oceans. The company is currently preparing for the mass production of such bags in cooperation with national companies.
