The human-citizen factor is at the heart of economic support programs, social packages, health care reforms and other measures implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. From this point of view, the highest mission of ANAS Central Scientific Library (CSL) is to take care of the intellectual resources of the temple of science of Azerbaijan, to promote it, to entrust it to future generations and to provide high-level information services to Azerbaijani science and intellectuals.

Although the CSL has frozen certain areas of its activities (reception of readers, book distribution, etc.) since the announcement of the quarantine regime in connection with the pandemic, it has managed to provide uninterrupted online information services to scientists and researchers. During this period, readers' inquiries were answered online, the required resources were provided in digital format on the CSL website, and users were sent via e-mail. At the same time, major changes have been made in the structure of the CSL's activities and literature funds. Disinfection works were carried out in the funds, reading halls and departments to receive readers. By taking preventive measures, a limited number of employees were involved in turn, and in accordance with security measures, substantial work was done to place funds within the CSL, reconstruct departments, and organize virtual events.

Trainings on the conditions of reception of readers were held in the library, starting from the entrance of the building in the reading rooms, open funds, subscription, the rules of social distance between the reader-user, reader-librarian were presented through the site and information boards. Medical masks, service tables equipped with antiseptics are ready for outdoor use on each floor.

The staff of the library is preparing to meet the postpandemic period with new modern services, rich scientific information resources, as well as the study and application of international security practices.
