September 19 is the day of remembrance of prominent orientalist, pedagogue, doctor of philological sciences, Professor Aida Imanguliyeva. Every year the staff of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after academician Ziya Bunyadov of ANAS visits the grave of the prominent scientist and remembers his memory with deep respect. Due to the quarantine regime in the country due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it was not possible to visit the grave of Aida Imanguliyeva collectively this year. On behalf of the team, on September 19, director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva visited the grave of prominent scientist Aida Imanguliyeva, paid tribute to her memory and laid a wreath at her grave.

Aida Imanguliyeva is an outstanding scientist who contributed to the international recognition of Azerbaijani oriental studies and its wide spread. As the first Azerbaijani woman Arabist, doctor of sciences, professor, Aida Imanguliyeva rendered special services in the development of Azerbaijani oriental studies, training of qualified staff in this field, and created a new scientific system for studying the problems of oriental studies. Professor Aida Imanguliyeva, the first female doctor of philology in Azerbaijan, gained fame not only in the former Soviet Union, but also in many foreign countries in a short time due to her deep theoretical knowledge, analytical thinking, knowledge of Eastern and Western languages. She was the editor of many scientific works in the field of Oriental philology. A number of works of modern Oriental literature have been also translated by Aida khanum.

Our scientific community always appreciates the contribution of Aida Imanguliyeva to the science of oriental studies and always remembers the great scientist with deep respect.
