Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On December 12, Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics started Republican scientific conference dedicated to eminent mathematician, scientist, academic Mirabbas Gasimov's 75th anniversary. Academician Akif Hajiyev, Vice-President of National Academy of Sciences, opened the conference and gave detailed information about scientific-pedagogical activity of the scientist and appraised his role in formation of Azerbaijani intelligentsia.

Then, scientists’ students - professor Sabir Mirzayev and Hidayet Huseynov valued M.Gasımov as introducer of Azerbaijani science on an international scale, shared their memories about him.

Along with Azerbaijan, scientists from Turkey, Russia, Israel, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan and Great Britain attended the meeting.

Note that three-day event will include lectures on various topics.
