Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On December 10-13 deputy Chief of the International Department of the Central Office of the Presidium of ANAS Zarifa Aliyeva and head of the laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems, corresponding member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev participated in International “Strategic Energy Technology Plan” (SET-Plan, 2014) in Rome (Italy).

Conference, organized by (ENEA) (National agency for new technologies, Energy and sustainable economic development) and supported by the European Commission, participated Directorate-General of the European Commission, Commissioner for Science, Research and Innovation, World Energy Council, including representatives of Italy, Germany, France, Ireland, Austria , Hungary, Latvia and etc.

Representatives of the South Caucasus, Central Asia and the Belarus attended the event within the frame of the European Union's “Horizon 2020” Program. Energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, and other important problems have been issued and exchanged views on important issues such as sustainable energy action plan to ensure the development and implementation of joint projects at the meeting.

An excursion has been organized to Casaccia Research Centre in the last day of the conference. The center has pilot facilities using solar energy for electricity generation and gasification of solid fuels technologies, research nuclear reactor and other unique technical capabilities. Scientists from the Institute of Radiation Problems met with experts of the center.
