Azerbaijani scientists took part in an international symposium in India

Azerbaijani scientists took part in an international symposium in India.

City of Delhi, India hosted 3rd International Symposium of Turkish art, history and folklore jointly organized by the “Miras” Public Association, Jamia Millia Islamia University (India) and Seljuk University (Turkey) with the purpose to assist the study of cultural heritage.

The symposium, organized by the University Jamia Millia Islamia, was opened by the secretary general of the organizing committee Aytaj Ahmed, who spoke about the historical and contemporary ties with India and Islamic world.

Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, prof. Ghazanfar Zahidi said that Jamia Millia Islamia is one of the leading universities in India.

The two-day symposium has presented more than 60 reports of scientists of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Italy and India. Members of the Azerbaijani delegation - MP Ganira Pashayeva made a speech on “Azerbaijan - India: historical ties and the present”, Deputy Director for scientific affairs of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS professor Kubra Aliyeva - “The Role of the Mogul miniature school in the formation of the Tabriz school of art “, scientific secretary of the Institute of Folklore PhD in history Afaq Ramazanova - “Dastan Turkic peoples “Arzu-Gambar'”.

In Congress, Deputy Director for scientific affirs of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS, doctor of technical sciences Nargis Aliyeva presented its report “Zoroasters in Azerbaijan in the Middle Ages”.

In the final session of the symposium, it was noted that the holding of such popular science activities will make a significant contribution to the study and storage of works of the Turkic peoples. Representatives of the Azerbaijani delegation, noting that the establishment of the University Jamia Millia Islamia Turkic Division is important, shared their views on teaching Azerbaijani language and literature in the university.

Professor Kubra Aliyeva offered to host the next 4th Symposium in Xingianq People's Republic of China.

The symposium participants also visited the historical and architectural monuments in Delhi and Agra.
