A scientific seminar dedicated to March 27 - Science Day was held at the Institute of History of Science of ANAS.

Opening the event, the director of the institute, doctor of historical sciences Maryam Seyidbayli informed about the formation and organization of the history of science. She noted that the history of science, a multidisciplinary field, was founded in the 16th century by the English philosopher, historian and writer Francis Bacon, and later improved by Belgian scientist George Sorton, American historian Merton Colter, Russian scientist Vladimir Vernadsky and others.

She said the process of organizing the history of science in Azerbaijan began in the 1960s with the establishment of the Scientific Council for the History of Natural Sciences and Technology. In addition, she said that currently there are more than 140 departments of history of science and 5 institutes of history of science in the world...

Then the staff of the Institute of History of Science - Head of the Department of Theoretical and Methodological Problems of History of Science, Doctor of Philosophy in History Bayram Guliyev, Doctor of Sociology Saadat Mammadova, researcher Elkhan Guliyev presented reports and commented on various aspects.
