ANAS Institute of Literature hosted "Makhtumgulu Faragi - Glorifier of friendship and solidarity" international scientific conference by organization of this scientific institution, Institutes of Manuscripts and Folklore.
The event was attended by the vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature named Nizami, academician Isa Habibbeyli, director of ANAS Institute of Manuscripts Teymur Kerimli, representatives of scientific intelligentsia and experts of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Faragi’s creativity.
The event was opened by academician Isa Habibbeyli who told about the works of Turkmen poet which entered a treasury of the world literature.
Further, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Republic T. B. Komekov told about Makhtumgulu Faragi's contribution to all-Turkic literature.
It was noted that, Makhtumgulu, who was born in 1733, wrote his poems under the pseudonym "Faragi." Makhtumgulu’s creativity serious impacted on the work of Azerbaijani poet Molla Panah Vagif and Molla Vali Vidadi.
Upon completion of the performance the ambassador reported that, by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhammadov, PhD student of ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ismikhan Osmanli is awarded by a medal of Turkmenistan "Makhtumgulu Fragi for special merits in studying, distribution and promoting of a creative heritage of the great thinker of the Turkmen people Makhtumkuli Faragi, and also considering a big personal contribution to development of friendly links between Turkmenistan in spheres of science, education and culture, in humanitarian field, rapprochement and enrichment of cultures".
Then, a ceremony of prize awarding took place.
Academician-secretary of the Department Humanitarian Sciences of ANAS, director of the Institute of Manuscripts, academician Teymur Kerimli expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the high assessment of the Academy.
Then at the event were presented the reports: "M. Faragi – Glorifier of friendship and solidarity", "Patriotism in M. Faragi's creativity", "Traditions of a classical and national verse in M. Faragi's poetry", "M. Faragi and literature of the Oguz Turkic peoples in the XVIII century", "M. Faragi's heritage at the intersection of the Turkmen and all-Turkic values", "M. Faragi's creativity in researches of Institute of literature in the years of independence ".
