Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Deputy Director of the Institute of Geography for scientific affairs, corresponding member Elbrus Alizadeh and leading researcher, PhD in geography Sitara Tarikhazer attended the 8th International conference “Science, education, culture and information-enlightement - are the basis of sustainable development in mountainous areas” which held in Vladigafgaz city, capital of the North Osetia-Alania (Russian Federation).

Held every three years under the auspices of UNESCO this conference discusses key issues of sustainable development of mountainous areas.

In the plenary assembly of the conference with participation of scientific dignity from France, Azerbaijan, Rusia and other countries, E.Alizadeh’s lecture “Abuse of altitutude-landscape in development of stream processes in the mountainous geosystems of south slope of the Great Caucasus” and Sitara Tarikhazer’s “Antrophogenic-dynamic characteristics of development of the landslide processes in the Azerbaijan part of Great Caucasus” aroused interest on the conference attendees.
