Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

In December 2015 marks 50th anniversary of the establishment of the main edition of the Encyclopedia of Azerbaijan to ensure the publication of the first encyclopedia, which contains the system data relating to all areas of knowledge. While a ten volume "Azerbaijan Soviet Encyclopedia" in 1976 -1987 years which written under the influence of the major ex-Soviet ideology, reflected the historical and cultural achievements of the Azerbaijani people.

Profound changes that have occurred in the life of the country in the period after the restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan necessitated the creation of a new multi-volume universal national encyclopedia. This publication, created the Scientific Centre "Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia", established by order of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic "On establishment of the Scientific Centre of" Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia "dated May 5, 2004, being the perfect source of information is of paramount importance in the enrichment of the intellectual potential of society. Up today was prepared and handed over to the readers the special volume of "Azerbaijan". There is a regular work on the next volume of national encyclopedia, five volumes of which have already seen the light.

Governed by Clause 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution and taking into account that Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia is a significant event in the political, scientific and cultural life of the country as a national treasure, I decree:

1. Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences jointly with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic to ensure the preparation and implementation of Action Plan dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia.

2. The Cabinet of Ministers to resolve issues arising from this Order.
