Earlier all innovations in luggage were mainly based on two things: integrated GPS-systems to track the location and batteries for numerous gadgets. As Tech Times reports, Israeli startup NUA Robotics has decided to go in a completely different direction and create the first mechanical carry-on bag that follows its owner, without the need of constant physical interaction.
NUA Robotics suitcase is equipped with a sensor, a camera and is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. Thanks to all this, it knows where the owner is and can follow it (at least on a flat surface).
The futuristic suitcase has a few other interesting features on board, including the ability to recharge devices from its own power source and a built-in anti-theft alarm. Users can also monitor its location real-time.
It is expected that NUA Robotics suitcases will be available in about a year, and the technology behind it will be used in other device.
