Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On December 12, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbeyli, members of the ANAS Presidium, heads of scientific institutions and organizations, representatives, and young scientists visited the grave of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of his death. Heydar Aliyev was the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, a world-renowned political figure, and the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people.

As an expression of their deep respect and reverence for the unforgettable memory of the National Leader, representatives of the scientific community laid fresh flowers on his grave and bowed in tribute to his spirit.

The memory of the National Leader’s spouse, prominent ophthalmologist scientist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, was also honored, and fresh flowers were laid on her grave.

The memories of the well-known statesman Aziz Aliyev and Professor Tamerlan Aliyev were also commemorated, and flower arrangements were placed on their graves.
