Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The closing ceremony of the “Come to the Village” summer camp, organized by the ANAS Youth Academy with the partnership of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held at the Sheki Olympic Sports Complex.

The closing ceremony was attended by Kanan Karimov, Head of Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Tubukhanim Gasimzadeh, Head of the Science Popularization Department of the Office of the Presidium of ANAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor; Kamil Adishirinov, Director of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor; Elmir Babayev, Chair of the ANAS Youth Academy, PhD in Chemistry, Associate Professor; as well as camp participants and other guests.

The event opened with a speech by Kanan Karimov, Head of Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He emphasized the importance of the “Come to the Village” summer camp in bringing together young scientists and researchers, developing their knowledge and skills, facilitating the exchange of ideas across various fields of science, and strengthening teamwork.

Tubukhanim Gasimzadeh, Head of the Science Popularization Department of the Office of the Presidium of ANAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, then addressed the participants, conveying greetings on behalf of the ANAS leadership and expressing her gratitude to the organizers. She encouraged young people to engage more actively in scientific activities and recommended that they apply the results they achieve in the future to the development of rural areas. She also wished them success in their scientific and professional activities.

In his speech, Kamil Adishirinov, Director of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, noted that Sheki’s scientific, historical, and cultural environment plays an important role in enriching the worldview of young researchers. He emphasized the importance of the camp participants’ visit to the Sheki Regional Scientific Center and the attention devoted to the region’s scientific and cultural heritage.

Elmir Babayev, Chair of the ANAS Youth Academy, PhD in Chemistry, Associate Professor, stated in his speech that the camp had been productive in terms of identifying the scientific potential of young scientists and researchers, establishing new cooperation networks, and fostering a spirit of teamwork among young people. He congratulated the participants on their active engagement and wished them success in future projects.

Following the official speeches, a concert program prepared by the participants was presented. As part of the program, theatrical performances, musical numbers, and dance performances were showcased. The colorful program was warmly received by the participants.

The winners of the volleyball competition held as part of the camp, as well as the teams that distinguished themselves in the intellectual game, were then awarded. Young people who actively participated in the competitions and achieved outstanding results were presented with respective prizes.

Certificates were presented to all camp participants during the closing ceremony. At the end of the event, group photographs were taken with the participants and organizers.

Thus, the “Come to the Village” summer camp, held in Sheki from September 2 to 7, concluded with a rich program comprising scientific lectures and presentations, training sessions, intellectual and sports competitions, excursions, cultural programs, and team-building activities. The camp was significant in providing young scientists and researchers with an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in various fields of science, establish new avenues for cooperation, and become closely acquainted with Sheki’s historical and cultural heritage and the region’s scientific potential.
