The study with an ancient history and rich traditions of the art of carpet weaving in Azerbaijan on the basis of theoretical and practical material, history and traditions of dyeing business in the country, prospects of the modern application of these traditions are the actual problems of the modern age.

Based on the above, at the meeting of Presidium of ANAS which has taken place on June 29, 2016 the resolution on creation of Sector Carpet Weaving Study at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS and was accepted the adoption of the provision of new sector. PhD in History Vidadi Muradov was appointed as head of Sector Carpet Weaving of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography.

According to the decree the LLC "Azer-Ilme, has been recognized as the base of Sector Carpet Weaving of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography.
