Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

October 31 - November 4, 2016 head of the Laboratory for Geographical Information Systems, Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Amin Ismayilov took part in the international event on digital soil mapping, held with the organizational support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The event was dedicated to the new software used in the preparation of digital soil maps on the basis of modern geoinformation technologies adopted by the Food and Agriculture Organization.

Within the event under the guidance of experts of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations were held trainings on new methods of preparation of various soil maps in digital format using R studio and QGIS software, the participants were awarded certificates on soil science and digital soil mapping.
