Eruption of the Keireki mud volcano

On June 12 at 04:07 local time, 8 km to the north-east of Gobu has been recorded an eruption of the Keireki volcano. The eruption lasted about 6 minutes.

According to a report received from ANAS Republican Seismic Survey Center the Keireki mud volcano is located 12 km north from Baku. The products of the volcanic eruption were distributed in the northern, northeastern and eastern directions in an area of about 3.5 hectares. The thickness of the volcanic eruption products in the crater area is about 3 meters, and at the edges -0.2-0.3 meters.

Note that, the mud volcano Keireki is included in the territory of the "State Natural Reserve of the group of mud volcanoes of Baku and Absheron peninsula" of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. Today there were 18 volcanic eruptions. Last eruption was recorded in 2014.
