Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The Protocol of Intent has been signed between the Institute of Geography named after acad. H.Aliyev and "Azercosmos" Open Joint Stock Company for the purpose of aerospace monitoring of forests with the help of modern technologies.

Based on the protocol, the mapping of the existing forest borders, estimation of the density of forest areas, drawing up maps of the main species of trees forming forests (peanuts, hawthorn and oak), the identification and monitoring of the areas where changes occuring due to natural and anthropogenic impacts, will be implemented in the direction.

The document has been signed by the director of the Institute of Geography, academician Ramiz Mammadov and deputy chairman of Azerkosmos OJSC Rovshan Rustamov.
