On September 23, in the Garadagh region, 35 kilometers from Baku at 08:53 was an eruption of the world's second largest mud volcano, Othman-Bozdag.
This was announced by the head of the Department of mud volcanism of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS, Doctor of Geology and Mineralogy Sciences Adil Aliyev.
According to him, the 2nd eruption was recorded at 09:58. The height of the flame reached 200-300 meters. In the eruption area, there are cracks up to 40 meters deep. It should be noted that Otman-Bozdag, the 2nd largest mud volcano in the world, has erupted 10 eruptions over the past 200 years. The 1st eruption occurred in 1854, and the last - on February 6, 2017.
