Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The 1st meeting within the framework of the new project “Expansion of Seismic Networks in the Caucasus and Central Asia” was held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Along with scientists from the United States, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, the forum was attended by the general director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center, corresponding member of ANAS Yetirmishli Gurban, chief engineer of the institution Rauf Muradov and system administrator Rugia Kerimova.

At the meeting, the report by Yetirmishli Gurban on “Modernization of the seismic network in Azerbaijan” was listened.

During the event, were discussed such issues as receiving and transmitting data, monitoring and maintenance of seismic stations, as well as the expansion of seismic networks.
