Advisor of ANAS, academician Garib Mammadov delivered a lecture on “Compilation of interactive electronic maps of environmental assessment of lands based on geographical information systems (GIS)” at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of BSU.

The report provides information on geographic information systems, a digital elevation model of the territory of Azerbaijan, the main features of the electronic compilation of these maps based on aerospace materials. The scientist also demonstrated for the 1st time made interactive maps on a scale of 1: 600,000.

Then, dean of the faculty, Professor Nazim Shamilov and head of the department of geographic ecology, Professor Shovgi Goychayli highly appreciated the work done by Garib Mammadov in this direction.
