Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The 90th anniversary of the establishment of ANAS Institute of Petrochemical Processes after academician Yusif Mammadaliyev is celebrated in 2019.

Started in 1929 as the first Azerbaijan Petroleum Research Institute on the basis of the Central Chemical Laboratory of the “Azneft” Production Association, since 1959 as ANAS Institute of Petrochemical Processes, this authoritative scientific center has gained prominence in fundamental research in the field of oil refining and petrochemistry in Azerbaijan and over the past period has made significant achievements.

The important role of Baku oil in winning the World War II is also associated with the commendable work of the scientists of the institute.

New methods and technologies developed at the institute is a results of high-level research and inventions awarded with high state awards have found wide application in industry.

Researches of the Institute employees in relevant scientific fields are reflected in the most reputable scientific journals of foreign countries. Highly qualified personnel trained by the institute successfully works today in the Republic and abroad.

Guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, for the exceptional merits of ANAS Institute of Petrochemical Processes after academician Yusif Mammadaliyev of ANAS in the development of petrochemical sciences and the oil industry in the country, I hereby order:

1. To Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences to prepare and implement an Action Plan devoted to the 90th anniversary of ANAS Institute of Petrochemical Processes after academician Yusif Mammadaliyev.

2. To the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan to address issues arising from this Order.
