Guseynov Mustafa Mammad oglu

Huseynov Mustafa Mammad oglu was born on March 22, 1928 in Sharur region. He graduated from the Chemistry Department of the Azerbaijan State University (1952) and later entered the postgraduate study at the Chemical Institute. After graduation he worked as a senior researcher at the Oil Institute, in 1959-1968 worked at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after Y. Mammadaliyev, in 1968-1973 at the Sumgayit Branch of IPP, in 1973-1978. In 1986 he was director of the Institute of Organic Synthesis of Chlorine. Since 1986 he has been working as a laboratory director at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes.

Received PhD in Chemistry (1957), Dr. Chemistry (1963), and Professor (1966). He was elected corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR (1980).

The main scientific works of M. Huseynov are devoted to the synthesis of organic compounds of chlorine in the "hot" state and on the basis of the high heat and the acquisition and application of refractory polymeric substances. Oxus chlorination of various hydrocarbons, alkalization of aromatic hydrocarbons, study of dietary reactions and development of scientific basis for promising directions belongs to M. Huseynov. Under his leadership, 10 technological processes have been implemented in the industry.

M. Huseynov is the author of a monograph, 260 copyright certificates and more than 500 scientific works. Under his leadership 90 PhD and 10 doctoral theses were defended.

M. Huseynov has been a professor at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy since 1960 and has made numerous presentations at the International and All-Union conferences and congresses.

He was awarded the title of Honored Scientist, in 1973 was a member of the Sumgait City Council, a member of the Bureau of Chemical Sciences of the AAS and a member of the Specialized Scientific Council. He was awarded the breastplate "Inventor of the USSR" and the "Veteran of Labor" medal.

Corresponding member of ANAS Mustafa Huseynov died in 1991 in Baku.
