Dashdamirov Afrand Firudin oglu
Afrand Firudin oglu Dashdamirov - active member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was born in Baku on March 12, 1942.

In 1964 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State University. In 1969 he received a Ph.D. in Philosophy, and in 1977 a Doctor of Philosophy.

In 1989 he became an active member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and in 1998 he was elected as a member of the International Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences of the Russian Federation.

In 1998 he was elected a member of the International Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences of the Russian Federation.

A.Dashdamirov was twice awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. For more than 10 years he was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR.

The basis of A.Dashdamirov's scientific activity was the development of socio-philosophical, national and interethnic relations, scientific research of political, cultural, ethno psychological problems, modern ethno politics, understanding of ethno-cultural processes of fundamental theoretical and methodological issues.

He is one of the 1st scientists to study national processes within the individual personality, individual life activity, and interethnic activity of the people and the interrelationship of their development.

In 1977-1981 A.Dashdamirov worked at the Department of Philosophy of the Baku Higher Party School and at ANAS Institute of Philosophy as Head of the Department of Theoretical Problems of National Relations.

In recent years A.Dashdamirov has written numerous scientific articles and monographs on interethnic contradictions and conflict problems on the basis of the Karabakh events.

In 1997-1999 A.Dashdamirov worked as the head of the department of national problems in the Ministry for National and Regional Policy of the Russian Federation of the Institute of National Theoretical Problems.

He also worked at the Department of National and Federal Relations of the Academy of the Russian State Service under the President of the Russian Federation.

In Moscow actively participated in the life of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the creation of Diaspora organizations in Russia. As a result of this activity, in the Russian Federation was established the newspaper "Azerros" and A.Dashdamirov was editor-in-chief. Since that time, A.Dashdamirov have devoted the most part of the scientific research to the solution of problems of the Azerbaijanians living in Russia.

In 2002, A.Dashdamirov was elected Vice-President of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress in Moscow. At the same time more than ten years he worked as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Azerbaijan Congress" (in Russian). Under the direction of A.Dashdamirov 10 doctors and more than 30 PhDs sciences were trained. The scientist is the author of more than 250 scientific works.

Active member of ANAS Afrand Dashdamirov died in Baku in 2015.
