Guluzadeh Mammadpasha Piri oglu

Guluzade Mammadpasha was born on September 5, 1914 in Baku. In 1927 he entered the Industrial Technical School after N.Narimanov. In 1932 he entered into Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry (now the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry). In 1946 he was student at part-time postgraduate and in 1949 defended Ph.D in technical sciences, in 1959 received Doctor of Technical Sciences, in 1968 was elected as a corresponding member of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences and in 1972 as an active member.

In 1951-1964 he worked as an assistant, associate professor, head of the department of drilling oil and gas wells, vice-rector for scientific issues and fruitfully continued his research and teaching activities.

In 1958-1964 he was the editor-in-chief of the All-Union Journal Oil and Gas. The research work of M.Guluzade is devoted to the development of oil science and technology, in particular, the theory and practice of oil and gas well drilling technology.

Under his leadership, were carried out such research work as automation, improvement, profile design and other work in these areas. The results of these studies were applied in Azerbaijan, Western Siberia, Kazakhstan, Crimea, Bashkortostan, Sakhalin and other oil and gas regions.

He was a member of a number of scientific and technical committees and commissions, a member of the scientific and technical council on oil education of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education, a member of the scientific council of the specialized candidate and doctoral scientific council "Science and Earth" of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, a member of the scientific council of the "Encyclopedia of Azerbaijan".

M.Guluzade was the author of 400 scientific works, including 15 monographs, some primary fundamental textbooks in the Azerbaijani language, 15 inventions and discoveries.

Under the guidance of a scientist prepared 45 Ph.D in Engineering. He was a scientific adviser to 10 Doctors of Science.

Academician Mammadpasha Guluzade died in 1994 in Baku.
