Basic activity directions   Collection, reproduction, enrichment of the collection, description, assessment of economic performance and efficient use in breeding and food sectors of genetic resources in situations on-farm/in-situ subtropical fruit crops and grapes prevalent in the country.

Definition of areas and collection of varieties and forms and subtropical fruit crops, common in the country.

Reproduction with the aim of restoring and conservation of genetic resources in the collections and subtropical fruit crops collected during expeditions.

Study and Evaluation biomorphological features cultivars and forms and subtropical fruit crops cultivated in gene pool gardens.
Main scientific achievements  Were selected promising new form (fig 2 (Bol Shalala and figs) and 3 grapes (Alinja Muscat Nakhichevan, Nargis) with productive plants, large fruits, rich in biologically active materials that are resistant to diseases and pests, and was presented the State Commission for Testing and protection of selection achievements.

Have been laid new and are enriched gene pool collection and subtropical fruit crops, including grapes Ampelographic collection. Copied and put into a collection of over 5000 pieces of planting materials, cultivars and their wild relatives, fruit and berry crops.

To enrich the collection of grapes in the country with industrial varieties were introduced first 6 grades (Matilde, Michele Palieri, Italia, Malvasia aromatica, Malvasia rosa, Malvasia fina) from Italy and two varieties (Crimson sedles, Emperor) of the United States.

Investigated and the comparative evaluation of biological characteristics and economic indicators more than 400 varieties and forms and subtropical fruit crops cultivated in the gene pool of our institute collections . Identified varieties and forms with positive bioeconomic indicators and bio recommendations for implementing them into production.

Passport data samples of grapes grown in the collections of our institute was included European central database and directory to search "Vitis".
