Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Institute of Polymer Materials and the Education Department of Sumgayit, secondary schools held meetings devoted to the March 27 - “Science Day”. The purpose of the meetings is to stimulate interest in science among students, to increase the level of their knowledge and experience.

During the meetings, Deputy Director for Science, Ph.D. Kazim Guliyev spoke about the Order of President Ilham Aliyev on the establishment of the “Science Day” dated April 9, 2018.

Academic Secretary of the Institute, Ph.D.in Chemistry, Associate Professor Solmaz Rzayeva told about the history and activities of the Institute. She also touched on the role of the periodic table of elements by Dmitri Mendeleev based on the periodic law of chemical elements. It was noted that, a chemist with encyclopedic knowledge was declared by UNESCO the greatest scientist of all times and peoples.
