Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

State Service of Cultural Heritage Conservation, Development and Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan held an event dedicated to the International Day of Monuments and Historic Sites on April 18.

The event included the presentation of the National Heritage Awards established by the Ministry in 2013, in order to promote the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, popularize the national architecture and restoration art, support and encourage activities in the field of preservation of historical and cultural monuments.

Leading Researcher of ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Ph.D. in History Jeyhun Eminli was awarded the "National Heritage Awards" in the nomination "For his contribution to the study of the heritage of Azerbaijan".

J.Eminli head of the international archaeological expeditions Azerbaijan-Korea (Gabala) and Azerbaijan-USA (Lerik). He delivered papers on the protection of the Gabala settlement, the design of the museum and exhibition hall of the Gabala Archaeological Center, on the material and cultural heritage of Caucasian Albania at leading universities in Bulgaria and Spain.
