Russian scientist explores the ceramics of the Azerbaijan Neolithic period

Researcher of the Department of Archaeological Monuments of the Russian State Historical Museum Natalya Petrova is on a business trip in our republic to study ceramics belonging to the Neolithic era (VI-V millennium BC), stored in the Archaeological Fund of ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography.

The main goal of research is to study the technology of neolithic ceramics in the Middle East and the Caucasus and to identify similar and distinctive features of ceramic products made in the Neolithic settlements of the Middle East, the South and North Caucasus.

N.Petrova was also on a scientific trip to a settlement in the Neolithic period Goytape in Tovuz region. Members of the archaeological expedition, under the leadership of the head of the department of the institute, Ph.D.in History Farhad Guliyev acquainted the Russian scientist with the results of his work.
