The archaeological expedition of Nakhchivan Division of ANAS has started archeological researches in Nakhchivantepe ancient settlement.

Archeological excavations take place on July 1, at the right coast of Nakhchivanchay, at a height of 853 meters above sea level. Researches in the area of ​​more than 300 hectares are being continued in the area of ​​more than two hectares.

The aim of the excavation is to study the history of the relations between the South Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as the settlement. The researches revealed the remains of ancient houses, obsidian parts, painted patterns, ceramic patterns, and various labor instruments under the soil layers. In the finds, stones are represented by individual examples.

It should be noted that archeological researches in Nakhchivantepe will be conducted by the end of this month.
