Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Employees of ANAS Institute of Architecture and Art  inspected architectural monuments in the North-West region of Azerbaijan - Shaki, Zagatala, Gakh and checked their current status.

Architects visited the UNESCO World Heritage List Shaki Khan Palace, as well as the Zagatala fortress, Zagatala Russian-Orthodox Church, Chingiz and Kebaloba towers, Jame (Ilisu) mosques, Sultans' mausoleums, the Ulu-Korpu Bridge, inspected a number of residential buildings. They also visited the Zakatala local history museum, familiarized with the history, archaeological heritage, ethnography of the district.

Experts have come to recognize that the monuments located in Zagatala and Gakh need restoration.
