15 events are being held in Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Termez, Samarkand and Bukhara within the framework of the cultural heritage week " Uzbekistan – crossroads of great roads and civilizations: Empires, Religions, Cultures".

The event is attended by more than 300 oriental scientists, experts and high-level UNESCO representatives from 40 countries.

The delegation headed by the Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Academician Shahin Mustafayev is among the guests.

The third International Congress of the World Society for the Protection, Study and Promotion of Uzbekistan's Cultural Heritage, the Kushan Treasury and the Unique Manuscripts of Uzbekistan were also organized in Tashkent during the week.

The guests will attend an event titled “Preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage: topical issues and strategies to resolve them” to be held in Samarkand under the auspices of UNESCO, as well as the opening ceremony of the XII International Music Festival “Oriental Melodies”.

Cultural Heritage Week will last until August 27.
