National Contact Points Network (NCPN) of the European Commission's “Horizon 2020” Research and Innovation Program has launched information day at the higher schools, supervised by ANAS vice - president academician Ibrahim Guliyev.
Information day has already been held at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, as well as the Azerbaijan Technical University, supported by Ministry of Education, members of the NCPN and International Relations Office of the Presidium of ANAS.
Opening the event at the universities, pro-rectors of international organizations, professors Nargiz Abdullayeva and Subhan Namazov spoke about the importance of the Horizon 2020 program and stressed the importance of increasing the use of program by Azerbaijani scientists.
Head of International Relations Office of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva told about the current state of the Azerbaijani scientific community to use the capabilities of Horizon 2020, as well as the activities carried out by the members of ANAS and NCPN to increase this activity.
National contact point for Legal and Financial Aspects of “Horizon 2020”, head of External Relations and Innovation Department of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, PhD in Technical Sciences Tofig Babayev familiarized the participants with the program's history, current opportunities, budget and the work planned for the new phase of “Horizon Europe”.
National contact point for Curie Scholarship Program for development of training and carier Mari Skladovskaya, head department of Antiquity Archeology of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, PhD in technical sciences Zaur Hasanov spoke about the need for individual and group grants and preparation of projects in this area.
Ilham Humbatov, national contact point for the European Research Council, spoke about the ways in which he could join projects within the “COST action”, bringing to mind the significance of establishing scientific networks.
National contact point for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), head of Education Department of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, PhD in technical sciences Farhad Yusifov briefed on the current ICT programs and challenges.
Meanwhile, at the events were delivered lectures by national contact point for Financial Aspects, head of International Relations Department of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, PhD in Economics Rufat Afandiyev and national contact point for Climate Activity, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials, PhD in Geography Rovshan on the requirements for project preparation, their evaluation criteria and the establishment of contacts with partners.
Note that, information day for Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program is intended to organize at the Baku Engineering University, Sumgayit State University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Baku State University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, as well as Ganja and Nakhchivan universities by the end of year.
