Within the framework of the Order of President Ilham Aliyev on celebrating the 100th anniversary of People’s Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, a jubilee event was held in the Sheki city, hometown of the outstanding poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, in honor of a significant date, organized jointly by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the Mahmud Kashgari International Foundation.

“The solemn celebration of the jubilee of the prominent poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh holds great significance in terms of educating future generations in the spirit of patriotism and Azerbaijanism. This event is also an expression of deep respect for the art, personality, and contributions of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh. We can see the development of his homeland, Sheki city, and we see it as Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh wished it to be and it shows that the poet’s ideals are still alive ,”-said the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, in an interview he gave during the conference held in Sheki in honor of the 100th anniversary of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.

The President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences emphasized that the value given today to art and creative individuals in our country, which has achieved great victories, is a good example for new generations to grow like Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh and sheds light on Azerbaijan’s bright future. This is the main result of this conference,-noted Academician Isa Habibbeyli.
