Employees of the Institute of Geography of ANAS – PhD in Geography Mirnuh Ismayilov and Emil Jabrayilov have carried out field researches in the Shiringum hills of the Mil plain.

Observations and measurements were carried out in the new desertification areas identified as a result of the studies. The absolute and relative heights of the hills were measured, and the geographic coordinates were determined. There are about 20 dune typed eco relief forms in the area.

Researches have revealed that the desert landscape covers an area of 45 hectares on the Mil plain.
