A young researcher of the “Dating Archaeological Findings” group, led by senior researcher at the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, associate professor Sahib Mammadov, junior researcher at the laboratory of environmental radiation chemistry Aybeniz Ahadova made a breakthrough in studying the monuments of Gobustan. Thus, the researcher conducted field research in the Gobustan State Historical and Artistic Reserve, where the archaeological complex is located. The method of Thermoluminescence conducted a study of a ceramic sample of the lower sidewalk of Mount Boyukdash and revealed that this sample has a 5655-year history.
Note that for the first time in the history of studying the monuments of Gobustan, this ceramic sample was analyzed by the radioisotope method.
In addition, tooth samples from this study area were also studied using the electron paramagnetic resonance method, and it was proved that these samples date from 1894 and 1353 years earlier.
