Fuad Aliyev, an engineer of the Geological Environment Radiometry Department of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS, visited the Joint Nuclear Research Institute (JNRI) in Dubna, Russia.
The young scientist conducted research in the framework of a cooperation agreement signed between the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and JNRI. He identified the elemental composition of sedimentary rocks from geological outcrops in the southeastern part of the Greater Caucasus by neutron-activation analysis.
The results obtained were presented to the I.M.Frank Neutron Physics Laboratory for the Scholarship Competition, holding among young scientists and specialists.
According to the results of the competition, F.Aliyev's research has taken first place.
