Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli met with a delegation led by Professor Jasurbek Salayev, Director of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence of the Khorezm Region of Uzbekistan.

Speaking at the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that in recent years, the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have reached the level of strategic partnership thanks to the active efforts of the heads of state. He noted that today, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan cooperate in many areas, including science and education, and that these ties continue to expand through the efforts of scientists and university staff from both countries.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli mentioned that the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences has extensive relations with the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and its higher education institutions and added that Azerbaijani and Uzbek scientists conduct joint scientific research in areas such as common history, language, literature, archaeology, and others and organize scientific conferences and symposia, produce publications, and also carry out training of specialists.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that joint cooperation would contribute to the development of science and education in both countries.

Then, Professor Jasurbek Salayev made a speech expressing his satisfaction with the visit to ANAS and noted that today, Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations are developing in all areas based on mutual trust, friendship, and shared values. Jasurbek Salayev provided information about the history, areas of activity, and personnel training of the institution he leads, and expressed their interest in cooperating with ANAS.  

Following the speeches, a cooperation agreement was signed between ANAS and Center for Pedagogical Excellence of Uzbekistan. The document was signed by the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, and the Director of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence Professor Jasurbek Salayev.  

Afterward, gifts were presented to the guests, and commemorative photos were taken.

The delegation from Uzbekistan also toured the building of the Presidium of ANAS.

It should be noted that the meeting was also attended by the Head of the Department for Foreign Relations and International Organizations of the Presidium administration of ANAS, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva, Deputy Director of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence of Uzbekistan, Dr. Muzaffar Matnazarov, Head of the Department of Education, Jumaniyaz Artikov, Senior Researcher at the Department of International Relations and Geopolitics of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS and Head of the BZT-TURAN Academy for Central Asian and Caucasus Countries Farahila Babayeva-Shukurova and Niyameddin Shukurov, Head of the BZT-TURAN Academy for Azerbaijan.
