On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of ANAS, Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics has announced Republican Olympiad in Geology and Geophysics for students and masters’.

The aim is to assess the level of knowledge of third- and fourth-year students of higher and secondary special education institutions, as well as I-II undergraduates, and boost their academic excellence in future activities.

Students wishing to participate in the competition should be registered by March 20.

The Olympiad will be held at that two rounds. In the first round, participants will prepare an essay on two topics to be submitted (in Azerbaijani or Russian, no more than 5 A4 pages). The finalist authors will respond 20 questions on geology and geophysics after gauging of the Organizing Committee. Applicants with the highest scores will be announced in three nominations.

The winner of the first place will be awarded 800, the second - 600, and the third - 400 manat.

The names of the winners will be announced on May 27 this year.
