Translation of XIX century work of prominent Russian poet and writer Mikhail Lermontov found

Deputy Director of the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS named after Fizuli, Doctor of Philology Pasha Karimov found and brought to the study of the novel of a prominent Russian writer and poet Mikhail Lermontov's “A Hero of Our Time”, translated in the XIX century by Bina Ali Arif bey Gazi Efendizadeh.

The work, which ended in 1900 and consists of 523 pages, has been named “Bizim vaxtın pəhləvanı hekayələrindən” («From the stories of the Hero of Our Time"), under their names included stories “Maxim Maksimych”, “Journal of Pechorin,” “The Fatalist”, and others, with modified headers. So stories “Bella”, “Ziba Khanum”, “Princess Noori” were called “Mary Hanim.”

The product is of great interest from the point of studying Azerbaijan translation literature in XIX century.
