Leading researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS (IMBB), PhD in Biology, associate professor Saadat Khudaverdieva was a guest of the Telesəhər (Teleutro) AzTV channel.
Speaking about whether animals carrying coronavirus can infect their owners, S. Khudaverdieva told about the history of this virus and noted that it creates an acute respiratory syndrome in both humans and animals.
The scientist said that although there is still no fully confirming or denying the fact that people have been infected with coronavirus from animals and vice versa, for safety reasons, during a pandemic, you should keep a distance with your pets and restrict communication between pets. She emphasized that, according to studies conducted by Chinese scientists, cats and stone martens are especially susceptible to this virus.
