Employees of the Institute of Bioresources of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - Doctor of Biological Sciences Ismayil Mammadov, PhD in Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor Parviz Fatullayev and a leading researcher Samir Guliyev conduct regular monitoring to identify rare and endangered species of animals distributed in the territory of the Autonomous Republic.
Two leopard cubs were recorded in the cold mountainous area of Zangazur National Park named after academician Hasan Aliyev through photo and video equipment installed last year. During the recent monitoring of the area by the staff, a new image of the cubs was obtained.
According to Ismayil Mammadov, these baby leopards have already grown up and are ready to start an independent life.
Note that with the support of the International Dialogue on Environmental Protection (IDEA) and the World Wildlife Fund, special devices installed in the autonomous republic to obtain both images and videos of animals without interfering with their lifestyle.
The Caucasian leopard also has a protected status worldwide and has a small number of individuals of this species.
