Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS conducts research in the direction of studying the history of the ancient and medieval periods of Azerbaijan, ethnological studies studying ancient and modern traditions, anthropology, material and spiritual culture by archaeological excavations. This is a difficult and responsible task - to lead a research institute conducting research in such multifaceted, complex field and laboratory conditions, to monitor the activities of expeditions conducting archaeological excavations in the regions. For the past 15 years, the Institute has been successfully headed by Doctor of History, Professor Maisa Rahimova.
