Congratulations to the corresponding member of ANAS Vagif İbrahimov on the occasion of the 75th anniversary!

Vagif İbrahimov, a well-known scientist in the field of computational mathematics, professor of the Department of Computational Mathematics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Baku State University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Honored Teacher of the Republic of Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS, turns 75 on May 9. Vagif Rza oglu İbrahimov was born on May 9, 1947 in the village of Jahri of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In 1964-1969 he studied at the full-time department of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University). He has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities at Baku State University (BSU) since 1969. Since 2006, the scientist has been a professor at the Department of Computational Mathematics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, BSU. In 2004-2011, he worked as the Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs at Baku State University. He has been a corresponding member of ANAS since 2017. Vagif Ibrahimov is a well-known scientist in the field of computational mathematics. In order to study the methods of escape, extrapolation, and interpolation in general, he developed several formulas for calculating the maximum values of the accuracy of the Obreshkov-type steady-state k-steps, and demonstrated the effectiveness of these formulas. He also developed prognostic-correctional methods for the use of forward-looking methods and identified sufficient conditions for the collection of these methods. The scientist proved that the methods of escape were more accurate than other methods, and specific methods were developed to meet these conditions. Once Richardson used the extrapolation method, he determined the upper limit of the increase in the accuracy of the multi-step method, and for this purpose took a special asymptotic approach to the error of the method. For the construction of more precise methods, V.Ibrahimov proposed the construction of hybrid methods, the first and second order developed and studied hybrid methods for solving ordinary differential equations. He developed multi-step methods for solving Voltaire-type integral equations using a constant number of integral nuclei at each step, and found sufficient conditions for the summation of these methods. Given that these methods are a new direction in the solution of Voltaire-type integral equations, he developed methods at the intersection of multi-step and hybrid methods, and applied these methods to the solution of Voltaire-type integral and integro-differential equations. With the help of special test equations, the scientist developed methods with a wide range of stability for the solution of Voltaire-type integral and integro-differential equations. The scientist also developed asymmetric methods and applied them to the solution of integral equations of symmetric boundary type Voltaire. V.Ibrahimov used hybrid methods and forward methods in order to build sustainable methods with higher accuracy and extended range of stability and their application to the solution of ADT, Voltaire-type integral and integro-differential equations. He was a member of the organizing committee of a number of international conferences. The field of research is the study of explicit, implicit, hybrid and forward methods and their application to the solution of the Cauchy problem and Voltaire-type integral equations for ordinary differential and Walter-type integral-differential equations. consists of determining the degree of accuracy depending on the form. The scientist is the author of 173 scientific works. More than 100 of his works have been published abroad. V.Ibrahimov was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Teacher" by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 30, 2009 for his services to the development of education and science in Azerbaijan. In 2014, he was awarded a diploma by the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan (now the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport) and the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO. He won the grant competition announced by the Science Development Foundation in 2020-2023. We congratulate the corresponding member of ANAS Vagif Ibrahimov on the occasion of his 75th anniversary, wish him long life, good health, new successes in the development of science and education in Azerbaijan.
